In a filing with the Tokyo Stock Exchange this morning, Sony has revealed a request for information from the US Department of Justice regarding its optical drive production arm, Sony Optiarc . While the same filing indicates the Japanese giant’s belief that this information gathering is part of a wider investigation into competition in the optical drive market, we’ve yet to hear of any other companies facing the same request.
